5 Podcasts That Got Me Through 2020 & 2021

5 Podcasts That Got Me Through 2020 & 2021

It’s no secret that lockdown (for the most part) gave us more time and therefore the opportunity to try new things, and listening to podcasts was one of those things for me. They really gave me a lot of relief during times when we lacked freedom, but not only that, as they gave me some level of routine too. But what were my go-to podcasts, you say? Well… Let me share them with you now, and maybe you’ll learn of your new favourite.

New Years Tier 4 Style

New Years Tier 4 Style

Christmas has passed and we’re in the limbo between that and New Years. A time that is normally big on celebrations, whether it be with a few friends or half the town in a superbly over-expensive club. This year will of course be a bit different, and the majority of the country will be spending it at home as a family or couple, potentially on your own if you live alone, or with your bubble. So, how can you make the most of the New Year evening this year when you can’t do an awful lot? Well, actually there’s quite a few things you could do.

Blogmas: How To… Make Gingerbread!

Blogmas: How To… Make Gingerbread!

Something I’ve really come to enjoy this year that brings me a little dose of happiness every time I do it is baking. It’s quite therapeutic. Now I don’t know about you, but I am a big fan of the gingerbread biscuit. I am an even bigger fan of a cutely decorated gingerbread man, and it’s that time of year where the coffee shops are stocked with them (now that we can go to them again.) However, this year, I decided to make them myself! Now, I have to add that this is the first time I’ve ever made them, so it wasn’t perfect, but I found a great little recipe that is very straightforward and doesn’t take hours to make. So, here we go!

Blogmas: Christmas Songs – The Classics

Blogmas: Christmas Songs – The Classics

It’s Chriiiiiistmaaaas! Okay… It’s not Christmas quite yet. We still have 24 days to go, BUT that does mean that the Christmas tunes will now be in full swing. So I thought for my first Blogmas post I’d collate a list of some absolute Christmas CLASSICS! Because let’s face it, you’re going to be hearing them around all over the place for the next 3ish weeks so you may as well get used to them. Enjoy them! Have a little jig (yep, I said jig. I’m sticking with it.)

Screen Break

Screen Break

I am currently writing this 3 days prior to when I intend on posting it. Why? Well for one, I’m actually trying to be organised and write some bloody posts, but secondly, and more importantly, it means I can schedule it to be posted on Sunday morning (possibly when you’re reading it) and not worry about having to take time out of my morning to physically go online and press publish myself. “Are you that lazy or normally that organised?!” I hear you cry. Nope! Tomorrow (Friday), after work, I go away with my boyfriend for a 2 night stay in Dorset, and I don’t want to have to feel like I need to go on my phone and post stuff whilst I’m spending our first bit of time away together in MONTHS. It’s funny isn’t it, because we live together, so we’ve spent all of lockdown together, but it’s definitely different when you’re away on ‘holiday’.

Hey! It’s nice to meet you. What’s this all about then?

Hey! It’s nice to meet you. What’s this all about then?

Hey! I’m Alia. Just a girl in the wrong end of her 20s, trying to get through this life with as much happiness and positivity as I can. I’m a photographer by trade, with a hobby for writing, but why am I writing this blog? Well, we all have our stories and a large part of mine consists of anxiously wondering through life. I’ve been a shy and anxious person for as long as I can remember, and despite having a pretty good life really, despite a few ups and downs, it hasn’t seemed to have left me yet. In fact, it got worse.
